Excursions

Over the years we have met two types of visitor – the cities-of-art lovers and the country walkers.

For the first type the main destination is Florence. Siena, Pisa Lucca and Prato are also well-visited. For travelling to Florence we always advise our guests to go by train: leaving from Vernio train station (about 2 km from here), Florence is just 30 minutes away. Florence train station – a modern architectural masterpiece – is right in the centre of the city, very near to Santa Maria Novella Square from where you can begin your visit of our wonderful provincial capital.

The second type see Corboli as the base for countryside walks leading to Montepiano, Montecuccioli, the Calvana mountains, and the Acquerino Nature Reserve in Cantagallo. All the High Bisenzio Valley paths are maintained by the Prato branch of the Italian Alpine Club (Club Alpino Italiano di Prato). The Great Appennine Excursion trail passes nearby: 400 km along the border between Tuscany and Emilia Romagna, there are 25 stages with a difference in level of over 34000 metres. Even if you decide to walk just a small part of this trail, it will be worth it for the floral panoramas alone.
